Biography
Anne Kovalainen is Professor of Entrepreneurship at the School of Economics, University of Turku. Her research lies at the intersection of economic institutions, self-employment, and gender. She has held multiple international fellowships, e.g. at Stanford University, the London School of Economics and Harvard University. She also led the SWiPE research consortium funded by the Strategic Research Council at the Academy of Finland. Kovalainen’s core areas of expertise include economic sociology, entrepreneurship, forms of work, platforms, qualitative research methods and methodology, science and technology studies and gender studies.
